VoIP-CAPI® for Linux

VoIP-CAPI is now also available as a CAPI4Linux compatible version.

Ulm, June 2005

The Windows version of VoIP-CAPI which is successfully installed in the market since 3 years is now complemented by a Linux variant.

Running on Linux VoIP-CAPI also acts like a virtual ISDN card and allows the instant integration of CAPI based applications in networks supporting Voice and Fax over IP according to the H.323 standard. Besides that it also offers an easy way to develop own communication solutions based on the CAPI standard for VoIP networks.

VoIP-CAPI is available as a standard product for Linux systems based on intel x86 and supports – like the Windows variant – up to 8 controllers with 30 channels each. On a project basis it may also be ported to other CPU architectures, e.g. for small embedded systems. It has already been ported successfully to infineon INCA-IP single-chip solution for VoIP terminals and to PowerPC.

On the road map for the next months are – among others – the integration of the SIP protocol and Soft Codecs like G.729.

VoIP-CAPI is distributed by several partners and directly by ikon GmbH. A demo version is also available.

ikon offers Professional Services, Software, Hardware and Test Solutions focussing on communication projects. The portfolio contains own products for ATM, ISDN and VoIP as well as Protocol Stacks, Operating Systems and Network equipment of leading vendors.

VoIP-CAPI is a registered trademark of ikon GmbH.
